Fees and Other Information...

Opening Hours

The centre is open from 7.30am until 5.00pm Monday-Friday. Closed on public holidays and for approximately two weeks over the Christmas period. This year we will be closed at 5pm on Friday 24th of Dec 2021 and re-open at 7.30am on Monday 10th Jan 2022.

We are a full day centre and therefore require an attendance of more than six hours per day. We accept children for a minimum of two days per week. This helps the children to settle into the centre and to establish relationships with teachers and other children. We request that your child be at the Centre no later than 9:30am so that he/she may benefit from the full range of activities offered by our curriculum.

We offer two day rates; Full Day or Shorter Day. If your child attends between the hours of 8.30am and 4pm then the Shorter Day fee rate will apply. Outside of these hours Long Day rates will apply. Please note 'Long Day' availability is limited due to staff ratios.

Families can take advantage of the ‘20 Hours’ ECE scheme for children aged 3-5. Please note that we charge a fee which covers the costs which are not funded by the Ministry scheme. These costs include providing more than the required of 50% qualified teachers. We have 100% qualified teachers because we believe this is very important and crucial to being able to provide quality education and care.

Forms for WINZ (Work & Income NZ) funding are also available but please be aware that families are responsible for any fees or part thereof not covered by the WINZ subsidy.

If you have any questions about fees or enrolments please email Odette at [email protected]. Odette works part-time and will answer your queries as soon as possible.

Children and their families have different likes and needs so we ask that parents provide lunch and afternoon tea for their child. We will supply morning tea which always includes fresh fruit and vegetables, a protein and some carbohydrates.

We promote healthy eating at Farmhouse Preschool. Lollies and soft drinks are not permitted, please read our food policy for more details. Please make sure we are made aware of any food allergies or intolerances your child may have.

We have children at our centre with nut allergies and due to the severe reactions that may occur we do not allow nuts in any form at preschool.

Nappies are to be supplied by parents. We ask for at least four nappies per day - we have limited space for storage. We support any parents choosing to use environmentally friendly products.

Remember .... there is no such thing as bad weather just bad clothing! Sunhats are provided summer, woollen hats, coats and gumboots and recommended in winter!

Getting messy is an important part of exploratory play, it is important that you send extra clothing for your child. We recommend at least two changes of clothing. Send your child in old clothing as it is bound to get a little messy!

IMPORTANT: Named clothing finds its way back to its owner!
